For some, the kitchen is their haven. They can be whoever they want to be in this place. They can experiment creating mouth-watering dishes to feed for their family, friends and relatives. For individuals who can really cook, it is nice to have a friendly showdown once in a while just like in Iron Chef. That adrenaline rush just keeps you going until the dish is finally over. Herbs are not very difficult to maintain provided you have a enough space in a well-light area of your kitchen. Depending on which herbs you use in your cooking, you will have a difference between those that are perennials, which means they grow year after year without needing to replant seeds and there are annuals, which means the plants last only one season and when they die off, new seeds must be planted to re-grow the herbs.

Cooking vegetables: Most times, when cooking vegetables on the stove top, you will end up with mushy, pale green vegetables and water that carries more nutrition than the cooked vegetable itself. What takes place when cooking vegetables on the stove is the vitamins and minerals that the vegetable is known for will get swallowed by the water. When cooking vegetables, such as broccoli, carrots, and asparagus on the stove top, we tend to cook until tender and pale. Actually, when using that method of cooking, the left over water in the pot ends up with more nutrition and better color.

  • Tim Sousa - 9 Grilling Tips  By : Tim Sousa
Always be sure to oil your grill first. Either spray the grill with a nonstick cooking spray before you turn the grill on, or you can wipe it down with a wad of paper towels dipped in cooking oil. If the grill is hot, be sure to hold the paper towels in a pair of tongs. Proper lubrication will keep the meat from sticking to the grill. If it sticks, it will tear when you turn it, and it will lose its juices and become dry, as well as looking unattractive, so be sure to properly oil the grill.
